As proud as I am to be part of the mental health provider community, I often live in the paradox of holding both gratitude and concern. I have some issues with the mental health field and often step out of the mental health field to learn anti-oppressive ways to provide support. Our field can be outdated and many of you looking for help are under-supported and under-researched. I am not here to fix you. Nor do I have a simple math formula promoting a false guarantee of certainty, safety, or success. Healing and recovery and the practice of mental health is complex. I want to Do No Harm and when I do mess up, I will own it and work to repair. I want to advocate with your consent leading the way. I want to stay a learner, not a knower. I want to get it right instead of being right. When I do not know, I consult and search for many different opportunities to learn more. Whatever power I hold, I wrap it in integrity and responsibility. I will use my privilege for good. I want to partner with you. I hope our work together helps you feel held and free.

I am interested in the integration of health in small and ordinary moments. We cannot separate mental health from our whole health. Our physical, financial, relationship, hygiene, and sleep health all intersect with our mental health. I often say we can have a nice conversation about the benefits of flossing but if you do not ever go home and floss, how did our nice chat help? We don’t ever say, I am all done brushing my teeth, don’t need to ever do that again! I am all done exercising or hydrating or sleeping! Why would we say this about our practices of mental health? I invite you to get out of the theory of benefits and encourage more of the daily practice. I provide a space to practice shame resilience, experience based therapy, play therapy, EMDR, sand tray, creative arts. I am open to seeing humans of any age.

Also, can we all lighten up a little?

Healing, recovery, and help is serious business but We can also have some fun.

One of my favorite practices I learned from Adrienne Marie Brown is “Move at the speed of Trust.”

All of You is welCOME here.
